Gals — Terms of Use
Draft under legal review. This is the current working version of our terms of use, published while our counsel's review is in progress, and it will change. Dated 6 October 2026. Questions: support@galsgame.com.
Last updated: 6 October 2026
These terms are an agreement between you and Le Studios LLC ("we", "us") about your use of the Gals game (the "game"). By creating an account, you accept them. If you do not accept them, do not create an account.
1. Who may play
You must be 18 or older to create an account or play. When you create an account, and again whenever these terms change, the app asks you to confirm that you are 18 or over. It does not ask your date of birth. Each time it starts, it also asks your phone's app store for the age range the store shares with apps, and does not open on a phone whose store says its player is under 18; our Privacy Policy (section 2) says what becomes of that answer. An account we learn belongs to someone under 18 is suspended at once, and deleted unless proof that its holder is 18 or over reaches us within 30 days (the Privacy Policy, section 9). Where the law or your app store requires an age check or a parent's consent, it applies before you can play or buy anything.
2. Your account
- One account per person, and one per device. You may hold one account only. You are responsible for keeping your password secret and for what happens under your account. A phone that has signed in to one account cannot sign in to another unless it is reset, which erases the game's data on that phone.
- Signing in. You sign in with your handle and a password. (once the app offers it) You may also sign in with Apple or Google. The first time you do, it creates an account, and you choose your handle before anything else; the email address Apple or Google confirms becomes your account's address unless another account already has it. Such an account has no password until you set one.
- Your handle. Other players see it. It is 3 to 20 letters, numbers or underscores, and must not be offensive, impersonate anybody, or look like a name we assign, such as
player_followed by letters and numbers. You cannot change it yourself, so choose carefully. - Your email address is optional, but without one we cannot help you recover a forgotten password.
- You may delete your account at any time, in Settings or at https://api.galsgame.com/account/delete. Both ask for your password; (once the app offers it) in the app, signing in with Apple or Google again also does. Without your password, you may ask us from your account's confirmed address (our Privacy Policy, section 8). Deletion is permanent, and our Privacy Policy explains what is deleted and what is kept.
3. How to behave
When you use the game, do not:
- choose a handle that is abusive, hateful, sexual, threatening, or that impersonates another person or us;
- cheat, including:
- using bots, scripts, modified apps or exploits;
- playing several accounts, or arranging results with another player, to change ratings or rewards;
- abuse purchases or refunds, for example by asking a store for a refund of gems you have already spent;
- try to break into accounts, the game or our servers, or interfere with how they work, including by overloading them;
- file reports you know to be false;
- copy, reverse engineer or resell the game or its content, except where the law allows it despite this term;
- use the game to break any law.
4. Reports, moderation and suspension
- Reports. You can report a handle from a player's profile or a battle summary, as offensive, impersonation or other. You can report up to 10 players in any 24 hours.
- Review. A person reviews reports every day, aiming to act within 24 hours. Nothing happens to an account because of a report alone. Our staff act through a tool of our own, and every action they take there is recorded, with the handle it was taken on.
- Blocking. You can block another player from their profile. Neither of you is then matched with the other, in live or instant battles, and neither sees the other's quick-chat remarks; any friendship, friend request or friendly challenge between you ends, and neither of you can send another. A battle already under way is played to its end. The other player is not told. You can block up to 50 players at a time, and unblock them from their profile or in Settings.
- Renamed handles. If a handle breaks section 2 or 3, we may replace it with a neutral name and ask the player to choose a new one. Until they do, their old handle still signs them in.
- Suspension. If you break these terms seriously or repeatedly, we may suspend your account. While it is suspended:
- you are signed out everywhere and cannot sign in;
- you are removed from the monthly leaderboard and the label board and their rewards, from the weekly raid's board (a raid you attacked in still pays what your attacks earned), from the Gloss and Grit counts, from friends lists, from matchmaking, from instant-battle opponents and from profiles;
- any live battle you are in ends at once, and you lose every round left in it;
- a Daily Delivery's days pass unpaid, as any day your app does not connect does (section 7);
- nothing is deleted, so a suspension can be lifted;
- you can still delete your account and its data, from the web page.
- Questions. To ask about a decision, write to support@galsgame.com.
5. Virtual items
- What they are. Gems, tokens, likes, materials (fabric and Notions), pages and packs, wardrobe pieces and patterns, seals and datelines, titles, and every other in-game item, are a limited, personal, revocable licence to use them in the game. They are not property.
- No cash value. They cannot be exchanged for money or anything of value, and cannot be sold or transferred outside the game.
- How you get them.
- Gems: a one-time gift when you create an account (two packs' worth); instant and live battles, won or lost; daily, weekly and monthly quests and the First Issue's steps; the login calendar and its welcome days; completing a model's five pages or a whole issue; a top-100 finish in a monthly season; the weekly raid; the Critics' tables; the story's chapters; your label's weekly dividend and a top-100 finish on the label board; the winning side's gift in Gloss and Grit; the season pass; gifts we give every player; or buying them (section 7).
- Tokens: recycling duplicate pages, the weekly raid, Gloss and Grit, the season pass, and gifts we give every player. They buy extra battles past the daily limit, extra raid attacks, and your label's renames and departments.
- Likes: battles, daily quests, the login calendar, the season pass's free track, the story's chapters and your label. They are spent on your pages' following, and are never sold.
- Materials: runway shows and Circuits, duplicate wardrobe pieces from the raid, Gloss and Grit, and your label. They are spent in the Atelier and on your label, and are never sold.
- Wardrobe pieces: one from the weekly raid each week you attack, and those you make in the Atelier. Pieces are never sold, traded or taken away.
- Seals and datelines: the weekly raid, the season pass, Gloss and Grit, the story and gifts; and the rarity looks, a seal and a dateline for each rarity, are sold for gems in the Store at the price it shows. A look you buy leaves your season pass's draw (section 6). They change nothing in play.
- Titles: earned in the game, as each title's own words say, and kept once earned.
- Gifts. From time to time we give every player a gift of gems, tokens, a pack, a page or a seal. It arrives the next time your app connects to our server while the gift is on offer, once.
- Changes. We may change how items work, including their prices and what packs contain, but not what you already hold.
- Rewards. We may withhold or remove rewards gained by breaking section 3.
6. Packs and pull rates
- What a pack is. A pack gives five random pages of one issue. Our server draws every pack; nothing is drawn on your phone. Every issue we have released is on sale, and the pages you hold stay yours whatever later becomes of an issue's sale. A free pack is always of the current issue.
- Your first pages. A new account is dealt twelve pages, drawn the same way, and they always include an Art page.
- The odds. The chance of each rarity and each page is shown before you buy: in the Store (View full pull rates), in Settings (Pull Rates) and in your pull history. The odds are computed from the same table the server draws with.
- Cover Story weeks. Every week one model is the Cover Story. That week, in a pack of her issue, each of her pages is twice as likely as any other page of the same rarity; the chance of each rarity, and the Art guarantee, do not change, and packs of other issues are drawn as usual. The odds screen shows the week's rates. A week is fixed a day before it starts. If the rates change between the moment you look and the moment you buy, the purchase is refused and nothing is spent, so that you can check the new rates first.
- The Art guarantee. The pack that holds your 90th page since the guarantee last came round always contains an Art page: if it did not draw one, its lowest-rarity page is replaced with one. An Art page you draw by luck before then does not move the count. Every page drawn counts toward it — packs you buy, your first twelve pages and free packs — but not a page given to you (the calendar's pages, the season pass's pages, a gifted page). The count is one for your account across every issue, and the Store shows how close you are.
- Checking a pull. We keep the random seed each pack was drawn from, and the rates it was drawn under. Both are in your pull history and in the copy of your data you can download, so a disputed pull can be checked.
- Packs are not gambling. Every pack always holds five pages, so no pack is ever empty. Nothing in the game has a cash value, and nothing in it can be sold, traded between players or cashed out, in the game or anywhere else. The odds of every rarity and every page are published before you buy, and the Art guarantee works as the Store says and as this section describes.
- Other things drawn at random. Our server also draws, and nothing is drawn on your phone:
- the wardrobe piece the weekly raid gives each player who attacked, from tables whose chances the raid screen shows;
- a runway show's placing, drawn when you send it, whose likely placings are shown before you send;
- the seal or dateline a season pass tier draws, from the looks you do not own yet, at chances the pass screen shows (a look you buy in the Store leaves the draw, and if you own every look of that kind, the tier pays 150 gems instead);
- the Art page the login calendar gives for 20 claimed days in a month, one of the current issue's Art pages, each equally likely;
- whether a Circuit whose finale is placed Gold also gives a pattern (one chance in four).
7. Purchases (once sales are switched on)
- What is sold. Three things, each through the Apple App Store or Google Play, under their terms: gem bundles, the month's season pass, and the Daily Delivery. The store takes the payment and shows the price you pay. Any tax is the store's to charge, where tax applies, as its checkout shows it; we add no fee or charge of our own.
- A bundle's first-purchase bonus. The first time your account buys a particular gem bundle, it comes with bonus gems, shown on the bundle before you buy (at launch, as many again as the bundle holds). Only the first purchase of each bundle has it; a first purchase that is refunded has still used it up; and a refund takes the bonus back in the same proportion as the gems.
- The season pass. It unlocks the paid track of the month's pass, for one calendar month in US Pacific time: the month in which the store records your purchase (if your account already holds that month's pass, the next month it holds none for). Every paid reward you have already reached is yours to claim at once, and the rest as you reach them until the month ends. When a month whose pass you hold ends, any reward you reached and did not claim, on either track, is given to you the next time your app connects. Without a pass, free-track rewards you reached and did not claim lapse when the month ends. The pass is climbed by play, never by spending: battles played and won, clashes won, quests and calendar claims, up to a daily limit. It does not renew: next month's pass is a separate purchase, and nothing more is charged unless you buy it.
- The Daily Delivery. A single purchase of gems over 30 days that never renews on its own: 250 gems once the store confirms it, then 60 gems on each of 30 days in US Pacific time, starting on the day the store confirms it — or, if one is already running or waiting, on the day after the last one ends.
- Each day's gems arrive the first time your app connects to our server that day, which it does when you open the game, when you return to it, and as you play. On a day your app does not connect, that day's gems are not paid, and cannot be claimed later.
- It never renews on its own. Nothing more is charged unless you buy it again. While a second one is waiting to start, the Store does not offer another.
- It carries no first-purchase bonus.
- If the store refunds it, it ends at once, and every gem it gave, the 250 and each day's 60, is taken back (for a partial refund, that fraction of each). If the store reverses the refund, those gems come back and the days left in its term are paid again; the days it spent refunded are not made up.
- Delivery. The store's record of your purchase names your account's random ID, so its gems can only be credited to your account. Gems are added once the store confirms the purchase and our server has checked it with the store.
- Unfinished purchases. If something goes wrong, the app sends the purchase again every time you open it signed in, and whenever you tap Restore purchases in the Store or Restore Purchases in Settings. Do not buy again.
- Pending payments. If a payment is pending, the gems arrive once the store confirms it.
- Withdrawn bundles. If a gem bundle stops being sold after you paid for it, you still get the gems it was sold with.
- Refunds. Refunds are handled by the store, and we cannot refund a store purchase ourselves. To ask for one:
- Apple: use Report a Problem on the purchase's receipt;
- Google Play: open the purchase's order in your Google Play account's order history, and ask for a refund there.
When the store tells us it refunded a purchase, we remove the gems it gave (or the refunded part, for a partial refund).
- A season pass refund takes the pass away, and takes back the gems and tokens its paid track gave (the refunded fraction of them); the pages, seals, datelines and likes it gave stay yours. The Daily Delivery's refund is described above.
- If you already spent them, your balance goes below zero. It is shown as zero, and you cannot spend gems until your balance is above zero again.
- If the store reverses a refund, the gems come back.
- Test purchases. A purchase made in a store's test environment (for example TestFlight, App Review or a Google Play licence tester) costs nothing and still gives gems. It does not count as a sale.
- Your rights. Except where the law or the store's rules give you a right to a refund or to cancel, purchases are final.
8. The models' share of sales (while the Store shows it)
The Store says: "Models earn from every pack of their issue. Each model earns 1% of the net revenue attributable to every pack of their issue sold, and 1% of every season pass that names one of their pages." The season pass screen says, under "The models on this pass earn from it.", that the models the month's pass names each earn 1% of the net revenue from that month's pass. Here is how that works:
- Net revenue is what Apple and Google pay us for a sale, after their commission and tax, taken from their monthly reports. Every sale of the same product in the same month is valued at that month's average.
- Which packs count. Only packs bought with gems from a store purchase: a gem bundle, or the Daily Delivery. When you open a pack, gems you bought are used before gems you earned or were given, and a pack paid partly with bought gems counts for that part. A bundle's bonus gems and the season pass's gems are not bought gems.
- Every model of the pack's issue, once per pack. Every model of the issue a pack belongs to earns once from that pack, for as long as the issue is on sale, whatever pages the pack holds; a season pass pays the models whose pages it names.
- Refunds. If a sale is refunded, the models' share of it is taken back. Test purchases never count.
- Deleted accounts. The share stays even if the player who bought the pack later deletes their account.
- Paid by us, not by you. We pay the models from our own proceeds, by hand, at least two months after the month the sale was made. The share does not change what you pay or what you receive.
9. Battles
- Daily battles. You can start 10 instant or live battles each day, counted in US Pacific time; each one past that costs 10 tokens. Friendly battles, raid attacks, sittings at the Critics' tables and story fights do not count toward the 10.
- Instant battles. You battle pages dealt from another player's collection while they are not there. Other players can battle yours the same way. Instant battles are not rated. The player who did not take part gets no gems.
- Live battles. You play another person in real time, one live battle at a time. You are matched only while you are on the matchmaking screen. Live battles against another person are the only rated battles (section 10).
- The clock. Each move has a time limit, shown in the game (currently 60 seconds).
- A missed move. If you miss a page, you lose that round and its points. If you miss the boon choice, you get no boon. You can carry on with your next move.
- Leaving. If your account is deleted or suspended during a live battle, you lose every round left in it at once.
- Friendly battles. You can challenge a friend to a live battle, which they have 30 minutes to accept. It is not rated, uses none of your daily battles and pays no gems.
- The weekly raid. Every week the whole game fights one boss. You get two attacks a day, and each further attack costs 10 tokens; an attack spends pages from a deck that has to last the week. Raid attacks are not rated. When the week closes, everyone who attacked receives gems and tokens and one wardrobe piece drawn at random; the top 100 by damage also receive a title and a seal, and the top 10 a dateline.
- The Critics, the story and the runway. Sittings at the Critics' six tables and the story's fights are free, unrated and pay nothing when they finish: a table pays gems once at each of its thresholds, and a chapter of the story pays its rewards once, when its last scene is cleared. At launch the story's first chapter is out, and later chapters open when we release them. The story is fiction: its houses, papers and people are invented, and it names no real person, not even in "The history behind the season" at a season's end, which cites books by their titles alone. A runway show takes only time, and pays materials whatever its placing.
- What changes the dice. A page's rarity sets how many dice it rolls, in every battle, rated ones included. Most battles open with a choice of boons; Art and Marvelous pages carry an effect; outside the raid, your agent sets a tactic for your side; and a page's following gives it a floor and a better chance of being drawn. A wardrobe piece worn on a page changes its dice only in battles that are not rated. Seals, datelines and titles change nothing in play.
- Results are the server's. Our server deals every hand and rolls every die. Each battle's random draws come from a secret key fixed when the battle starts. The server releases that key once the battle is over, so a result can be checked.
- Quick chat. In a live battle you can send one of a fixed list of remarks; a few are offered only right after a moment worth reacting to, such as a round won by an Art page. You can mute the other player's remarks, and no remark is shown between two players when either has blocked the other.
10. Rankings, seasons and boards
- Seasons. Each calendar month, in US Pacific time, is a season, and every rating resets at the start of each one.
- Ratings. Only live battles against another person are rated. Ratings move after each rated battle, and what one player gains, the other loses.
- The leaderboard. You appear on it after a minimum number of rated battles in the season, shown in the game. The top 100 at the end of a season receive gems, as the Rankings screen shows.
- Unrated battles. Two accounts can play only a limited number of rated battles against each other in a season (currently 3). Later battles between them still count for gems but not for ratings. Instant battles, friendly battles, raid attacks, the Critics' sittings, story fights, and battles against the game's own opponent or against a player who has deleted their account, are not rated either.
- Your label. You can name a label of your own, from the game's own lists of words: the first name is free, and a new name costs tokens. Its renown grows with your play and pays a weekly dividend of gems. Each month, the 100 labels whose renown grew most receive gems, and the top 10 a title. Your label's departments, paid for with materials and tokens, buy bonuses to materials, likes and raid attacks and room for more looks on your label, never anything that changes the dice.
- Gloss and Grit. Each month you may choose one of two sides, once, for that month. A clash is a rated live battle between players of the two sides. The month is played in five rounds, the last worth three points: each round goes to the side with more clashes won in it, and the side with more points takes the month. A clash won, and a round your side wins after you fought a clash in it, pay tokens and materials; the winning side's players who fought at least 5 clashes in the month receive a gift of gems the next month; and in the final round each player with a side may vote for a model, the winning side's votes choosing a Cover Story week of the next month. Choosing a side changes nothing in play.
- Held: the Agency. (Built, and switched off at launch; this applies only while it is switched on.) You may join one booking agency at a time (founding one costs gems): openly, with a six-character join code its head shares, or by a request its head or bookers accept. Its players are listed, by handle, to one another. Each week the agency's raid damage can pay its players who attacked materials, likes and gems; weekly bookings pay tokens; players can give materials to another player's request on their own agency (never gems, tokens, pages or likes), up to a daily limit; and a weekly board names the agencies, never their players. An agency's head and bookers may remove a player, within the game's limits, and leaving or being removed means a wait before joining another agency.
- Held: the Annual. (Built, and switched off at launch; this applies only while it is switched on, from the first full fashion year it is on for.) At the end of each fashion year (1 December to 30 November), the game names the top three players in each of six categories counted from play, by handle, in the game's news, and first place earns a title. A suspended player is skipped, and a player's handle is not shown once their account is suspended or deleted.
- Corrections. We may correct rankings or rewards affected by a fault or by breaking section 3.
11. Notifications
If you allow notifications, we send them when it is your move in a live battle (a friendly battle included) and when a live battle finishes. You can turn them off in your phone's settings. Two reminders are set on your phone alone and send us nothing: the daily reminder, which you can turn off in the game's Settings, and a notice when a runway show you sent is over.
12. Changes to the game and these terms
The game may change, and features may be added, altered or removed. Some parts of the game are built and switched off (the passages marked held above); we may switch a part on or off from our server, without an app update. We may update these terms. If a change matters, we will tell you in the game before it takes effect. When these terms change, the app shows you the new version and asks you to agree before you carry on playing, and we record which version you agreed to and when. Continuing to play after that means you accept the new terms.
13. Ending your use
You may stop playing and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, as section 4 describes, or stop offering the game. If we stop offering the game entirely, we will give 30 days' notice in the game where we reasonably can.
What survives. When your account ends, or these terms do, these parts go on applying to what happened before: section 3, for anything done while you played; the "No cash value" and "Rewards" parts of section 5; the refund rules of section 7; sections 14 to 18; and this paragraph.
14. Disclaimers
The game is provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent the law allows, we give no warranty that it will be uninterrupted, error-free or available in your country.
15. Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of virtual items. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for purchases in the game in the 12 months before the claim (the store takes that payment, as section 7 says). Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
16. Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington, United States. Disputes go to the courts of Spokane County, Washington, except that consumers keep any right to bring proceedings where they live.
17. Apple
If you got the game from the Apple App Store:
- The parties. These terms are between you and us, not Apple. We, not Apple, are responsible for the game and its content.
- Your licence. You may use the game only on Apple-branded products you own or control, as the App Store's Usage Rules allow.
- Support. Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the game.
- Warranty. If the game fails a warranty that applies, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price, if any. To the extent the law allows, Apple has no other warranty obligation.
- Claims about the game. Apple is not responsible for claims about the game, including product liability, failure to meet legal or regulatory requirements, or consumer protection claims. That includes claims that the game, or your use of it, infringes someone's intellectual property.
- Sanctions. You confirm you are not in a country subject to a US Government embargo or designated as supporting terrorism, and not on a US Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
- Beneficiary. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you.
18. Ownership, the models' photographs and our marks
- The models' photographs. The photographs and clips of the models in the game are the models' own: each model keeps the copyright in hers and licenses it to us for the game. Nothing in these terms gives you a right in them beyond seeing and playing your pages in the game.
- The houses and the story are fiction. The fashion houses, labels, agencies, papers and people of the game and its story are invented; none is a real company or person.
- Our marks. "Gals", the game's logo and the app's other marks are ours.
- Everything else. The game, its software and its other content are ours or our licensors', and section 3 says what you may not do with them.
19. Contests
The season prize is not offered. It will be offered only once its own official rules are published, and those rules will govern it.
