Fair play and safety

Gals takes money for packs, and it ranks people against each other. These are the rules that keep those two things apart.

The odds are published

Every rarity's chance is published here and in the game's Store, before anything is bought.

The pack that holds your 90th page since the guarantee last came round always contains an Art: if it did not draw one on its own, its lowest-rarity page is replaced with one. From a count of zero, that is the 18th pack. An Art you draw by luck before then does not move the count — the guarantee comes round every 90 pages whatever luck brings — and every page counts toward it, including the pages you start with. Your progress toward the guarantee is shown in the Store.

Nothing you buy changes the dice in ranked play

• Gems buy packs and cosmetics. They never buy a rating, a battle or a better roll.
• Wardrobe items, which are earned in the raid and the Atelier, are switched off in every ranked battle.
• Both sides are offered boons of the same tier at the start of every battle, and a page's effect is the same in your hand as in anyone else's.
• Every shuffle and every die in a battle comes from a secret key the server commits to when the match is dealt, and discloses when it ends. Any finished battle can be checked against it.

Ranked play

• A month is a season, and everyone starts it level.
• At most 3 rated battles against the same player a month.
• A move you miss loses that round and nothing more.

Who plays

For players 18 and over. Sold in the United States at launch, with more countries to follow. An account is required to play.

Names and behaviour

• Player names are filtered when an account is created.
• You can report a name from a player's profile or from a battle summary. A person reviews every report, within a day.
• You can block a player from their profile. You are never paired again, and their remarks are hidden both ways.
• An account can be suspended.
• Chat is a fixed list of remarks. There is no free-text chat in Gals.

Your data

• Download a copy of your account's data, from Settings.
• Close your account from Settings, or on the web account deletion page. You need your password either way.
• Gems are sold by Apple and Google, which take the payment and handle refunds. Restore Purchases is in the Store and in Settings.
